Old Hartley Beach is a little beach inbetween Seaton Sluice and Whitley Bay. It's not a very big beach and it's quite enclosed which leads to it being very quiet. It is an all year round dog friendly beach.
I would fully recommend checking the tide times for this beach as when it's high tide, there is little or nothing left of the beach. When it's low tide, you will have plenty of beach to play as well as loads of rocks if your dog enjoys rockpooling. On low tide, you can walk all the way round to St Mary's lighthouse via the rocks where you can also get some lovely photos.
With it being small and quiet, it would be a great place to take a puppy to let them get a feel of the beach. There's only one way up and down to this beach and that's some stairs that lead down to it.
Parking Information
There is a car park just at the top this beach which has quite a few spaces. There is a few fields which sometimes have some cows but it's all fenced off. The beach is a 2 minute walk from where you park. When the car park is full, you're able to park on the grass verges leading down to it.
