Hareshaw Linn

Hareshaw Linn is roughly a 3 mile return walk in Bellingham, Northumberland. There is one path that takes you all the way to a lovely waterfall making it very easy to navigate. Although the walk is only 3 mile, it is quite steep on certain parts, however, all the climbs either have stairs or cobbled paths which makes for easy climbing. There are plenty of pit stops to make along the way, majority of which are leading down to the river and have a few smaller waterfalls for some good photo opportunities.

It does say you're required to keep your dog on the lead but along the walk we saw plenty of people with their dogs off leads. I guess it depends how well behaved your dog is as there are a few steep drops as you climb and walk along. We visited on a wet day and it made for some parts to be quite slippery, however, we never felt any of it was dangerous.

We loved this walk as it wasn't too long for Luna or Willow, Willow only being 22 weeks old. We got there about 9:30am and it was very quiet, however, we were able to sit at the waterfall for a good 30 minutes undisturbed, which was great to get some photos and have a little food break. We only seen one or two people along the way but coming back it definitely seemed to get busier. We passed a lot more families headed towards to the waterfall.

Parking Information

We parked at the recommended car park as we were unfamiliar with Bellingham. The car park is quite literally at the start of the walk. There are about 10-12 spaces in the car park. When we got there at 9:30AM there was no one in the car park but when we returned from our walk around mid-day, there was only one space free. We noticed people were parking on the road right outside the car park.

The postcode for the car park is NE48 2DA. One of the spaces has an electrical charging point and all parking was free.
