Credit to our friend, Frank, for pointing this lovely place out to us.
East Cramlington Nature Reserve is fast becoming one of our favourite places to go for an evening walk. It is just field upon field of open space for your dog to run wild and free. Great for burning off some much needed energy. Along with all the open space, there are also a few patches of woodland area if you would like to go for a little venture through the woods.
Due to its size, you can pretty much walk around the entire place and not see anyone, which is great if your dog is a little nervous around people and/or dogs. It looks like the ideal place for some off lead/recall training. There is no set track to follow so you can just go as you please.
There are a few benches scattered around the walk if you're wanting to sit down and have a break, as well as there being 3/4 picnic benches near the little pond.
On a good night, this is a lovely substitute to the beach.
Parking Information
There is on site parking for East Cramlington. The car park has about 10 spaces but often when it's full, people park on the verges in the car park. As long as there is enough space for the car to reverse out. Everytime we've been in the evening we have always managed to get parked.
The car park doesn't have it's own postcode but the nearest postcode is NE23 6XG. If you click the postcode if should give you a better understanding of where to park. The turn can creep up on you and is quite easy to miss first time.
Car park is free.
